CAPTURING RACE DAY EXCITEMENT

The race details below will provide you with all the information you need to plan your perfect New York Race of Hope 5k experience from start to finish. This teen focused event provides important connectedness by uniting communities around the city in support of a common cause. We cannot wait to share all of the fun that we have planned as we work to defeat depression.

The state of teen mental health across the nation is urgent.

Join fellow runners and walkers along with their family and friends to participate in the NYC Race of Hope 5k to Defeat Depression in New York. Our goal is to unite the community, encourage teen connection and inclusion, and build a supportive environment to raise awareness about depression. Together, we can reduce the stigma associated with seeking help and provide the important tools to support those experiencing depression.

The 2026 NYC Race of Hope is capped at 380 participants. Register early!

Register online today to join us at the New York City Race of Hope 5k to Defeat Depression!
 

  • Be among the first 300 registrants to pick up a race packet and you'll receive a race bib and commemorative gear (shirt & hat) to celebrate your race.

  • Gear and sizes are available in limited quantities and offered at packet pick up on a first come first served basis.

  • Don't want your gear? Select size, "I don't want any gear" to donate your shirt and hat back to the event and only receive a bib & optional Finisher Medal when you complete your race.

  • After all gear has been handed out, no further gear, refunds, or cost adjustments will be offered.

  • 100% of all proceeds go directly to depression research.

JOIN US ON RACE DAY!

The 2026 NYC Race of Hope 5k to Defeat Depression will take place at the Davis Center in Central Park. The Race will start promptly at 8:00 AM.

TRANSIT

Plan to arrive early and allow plenty of time to navigate transportation. On site parking is not available. The following bus, train, and subway options offer access near the Davis Center in Central Park.

Subway/Train Service:

  • 110th Street (2 and 3 trains) - 5 minute walk (0.2 miles)

  • Cathedral Parkway - 110th Street (B and C trains) - 10 minute walk (.5 miles)

  • From Long Island: Take the LIRR to Penn Station, then the 2/3 train to 110 St or the C train to Cathedral Parkway - 110 St

  • From Westchester: Take Metro-North Harlem Line to Woodlawn. Transfer to the 2 train to 110 St

  • From New Jersey: Take NJ Transit to Penn Station (NY), then the 2/3 train to 110 St or the C train to Cathedral Parkway - 110 St

Bus Service:

  • Central Park North (M2, M3, and M4) - 5 minute walk (0.2 miles)

  • 5 Ave / East 109 Street (M1 and M2) - 8 minute walk (0.4 miles)

  • Central Park West / W 108 Street (M10) - 8 minute walk (0.4 miles)​

PARKING

On site parking is not available. Please allow ample time to park and walk to Central Park prior to the race start.

SELF ASSIGNED START CORRALS:

For the safety of all participants, each racer should position themselves in the starting line corral based on their anticipated race pace. Elite racers at the first to casual walkers last

RACE SAFETY:

For the safety of all participants, any racer who reports with a stroller must move to the back of the back of the corral no matter their race pace.

  • Line up according to pace

  • Front corrals = Fastest racers

  • Back corrals = casual walkers

  • Strollers = back of the last corral

For 2026, the NYC Race of Hope has a brand-new 5K course through the quiet, scenic northern sections of Central Park. Start and Finish at the Davis Center and stick around for the post-race celebration and awards. Course map coming soon!
